about the artist

Mica Low is a 2018 graduate of the University of Washington's Museology MA program, and a 2014 graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she earned a BA in illustration with a minor in scientific illustration. As a watercolorist and digital artist with a background in both narrative art and natural science, her work has a broad range of focus, but always features naturalistic detail and lively biomorphism.

She is passionate about ecology, history & art history, and visitor-centered design. In addition to freelance illustration, she is working as an exhibit graphic designer at an independent design firm.

She currently lives in Seattle with twenty-four houseplants and one dog, and takes a break from all the art by rock climbing, hiking, and birdwatching whenever she can.
